Nick Hirst

Trained at the University of Bath, Nick was successful in the SPAB Philip Webb Award and the Archetype National Student Competition during his studies.  He was awarded the Lethaby Scholarship, spending a year studying traditional building techniques and conservation on-site, around the British Isles.

Nick has maintained an on-going involvement in the heritage sector on a variety of projects, in the UK and overseas. Within the hotel sector Nick has delivered a number of schemes including three projects in the Channel lslands and a current project in Central London. 

He is currently developing the Watford Health Campus Masterplan and other urban design projects in a wide variety of locations, including North Africa, the Middle East and Ghana. In the UK, Nick’s has also been involved in a number of mixed-use schemes, including both retail-led and residential-led projects.

He was awarded the Royal Institute Young Artist of the Year Award in 2003, and exhibited in the Architecture Room at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. He is a member of ICOMOS, the Urban Design Group and an elected member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC). Since 2007, he has acted as a representative of the Kingston-Upon-Thames Design Review Panel and has recently been elected as a Design Advisor for Urban Design London.
